Guest house accommodation near Penrith in Cumbria
The house is fully carpeted and centrally heated. We have a library of books and games which you can enjoy while you visit. There is a guest dining room that can be used to play cards, chess dominoes, or just read, when not serving meals. In the summer, seating is provided on the paved terrace in the garden to enjoy. We can serve tea or coffee if desired.
The Red Room
This is a cosy room in deep rose, pink and cream, with a king-sized bed, a settee and table for ease of comfort to watch T.V. and drink tea which is provided on a hospitality tray. The en-suite contains a bath with shower, sink, toilet, with towels and a basket of toiletries provided.
The Single Bedroom (Green Room)
This is a crisp clean green and gold room with a metric single bed (ideal for the taller person). This room has a chair, table T.V. hospitality trays of tea, coffee and toiletries. The en-suite is a fully tiled shower room with toilet, sink and towels.
The Blue Room
This is a bright and sunny room with twin beds that convert to a super-king double. This room has three windows and overlooks the garden and fields beyond. The room contains chairs, tables, T.V. and hospitality tray of tea and coffee. The en-suite contains a Victorian bath, double corner shower, with sink and toilet, towels and a basket of toiletries.
All bedrooms now have Freeview TV, towelling robes and fridges.
For your use while you are here, you will find in a cabinet drawer in your room; a shoe polishing kit, sewing kit, manicure set, hairdryer, and just in case you have brought some wine with you, there are glasses and a corkscrew on a silver tray for your use.
In the refrigerator you will find the milk of your choice, for a cup of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, or herbal teas, with a tin of biscuits to enjoy, you will also find a sweetie jar by the bed. If you have pre-ordered a newspaper our friendly milkman will deliver it around 8.30am in the morning on weekdays and Sunday, and on Saturday around 9.15am.
You will find a clock radio CD player by the bed, there are also some cd's in a drawer, and bathrobes in the wardrobe with an extra blanket and a slip mat for the bath, or shower. There are toiletries in a basket for your use.
There is a comprehensive selection of books and games in the inner hallway for your use during your stay. If you borrow a book please sign a sheet to say which one you have borrowed, and returned before departure.
If you would care to join John & I in the lounge on an evening you will be most welcome. Even in the summer months there may be a cold day, so we will probably have a roaring fire in the grate.
There is a list of tearooms, restaurants, emergency numbers, etc' in the folder in yet another drawer, with a glossy folder from the local tourist board for "Things to do" in our area. We have added a few of our own. We hope you enjoy your stay here. If you have any queries, need help, or more tea bags etc please ask.
We have parking for 4 cars, but regretfully we cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage to any vehicle parked within the "Guest House" confines.
